VerraUltra Canola Meal
Expeller-Pressed Canola Oil Is Naturally Produced
Expeller-pressed canola oil is produced by mechanically squeezing (pressing) the oil from the canola seed using a unique double expeller-press process. The canola cake of canola meal is produced from the extraction of the canola oil. Learn more about the Expeller Press Process.
Dual Protein and Energy Feed Ingredient
Pacific Coast Canola canola meal is produced by a mechanical expeller-pressing process. Unlike conventional pre-press, solvent extraction processing of canola meal, hexane solvent is not used to extract the oil in the expeller-pressed process. The resulting meal is solvent free and contains higher levels of oil compared to conventional solvent extracted canola meal. Even with higher oil content, the protein content in our expeller-pressed canola meal is not diluted, it has the same amount of protein as conventional canola meal.
Key Nutritional Features
Pacific Coast Canola canola meal contains 95 percent dry matter (compared to 88 percent dry matter for conventional canola meal), meaning that you are paying for nutrients, not water. This provides some flexibility to feed formulators who are working with some higher moisture feed ingredients. And even with the higher oil content, because of the higher dry matter, Pacific Coast Canola canola meal contains as much protein as conventional canola meal (as is basis).
